Now do I know generate a license for nProbe?

As of version 6.2.x nProbe comes with a per-seat license for those customers who have purchased support. In order to activate nProbe it's then necessary to create a license. In order to do that you need to know the systemId where nProbe has been installed:
  • Unix
    • Type nprobe -v
  • Windows
    • Run license.exe that comes with your copy of nprobe
Example:

deri@iMac-Luca 203> ./nprobe -v

Welcome to nprobe v.6.2.1 ($Revision: 1927 $) for x86_64-apple-darwin10.6.0

Valid nProbe license found

In bold it's highlighted the systemId and nProbe version.

At this point you need to
  • Go to http://www.nmon.net/mklicense/
  • Fill the web form with
    • The above systemId
    • The orderId that you received when you purchased nProbe on the e-shop site
    • The nprobe version you have installed (in the above example the version is 6.2.1)
The system will produce a licenseId you need to save on a text file
  • Unix:
    • /etc/nprobe.license
  • Windows
    • nprobe.license that must be placed into the same directory where nprobe.exe has been installed
At this point you, when you will start nProbe it will detect the license just generated, unlocking it from demo mode to full version.
